Overview
A commission by Gateshead Council to design and deliver a bespoke Drama Based Training event and filmed case study for elected members. The aim is to explore stereotypes and challenge misconceptions about young people in care.
Solution
A series of half day interactive events using a range of participative media, drama scenarios and discussion. The events examine elected member’s statutory responsibilities of looked after children in their care as the ‘corporate parent’. As well as highlight the positive impact integrated services working together can have on the five outcomes of looked after children and young people. Including a film case study. Overall, the response to the resource was outstanding. The film case study continues to be used within councils across the UK.
